Terms of Service

Plain terms, written the way we actually work. What a fixed quotation means, what advance is normal, what insurance covers, and how a claim is settled.

1. What these terms cover

These terms apply when you book any service from Shree Shyam Movers Group — household shifting, office relocation, vehicle transport, warehousing or packing. Booking a move, in writing or on the phone, means you accept them.

Nothing here takes away the rights you have as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

2. Quotations and pricing

  • A quotation becomes fixed only after a survey — at your home or over video. A figure given on the phone before a survey is an estimate, not a commitment.
  • The written quotation is all-inclusive: packing material, labour, loading, transport, unloading, applicable taxes and the floor access we recorded at the survey.
  • The price changes only if what you asked for changes — extra goods added after the survey, a different address, an extra floor, waiting days you request, or storage you add later. We tell you the revised amount before doing the work, never after.
  • Quotations are valid for 15 days from issue, unless we state otherwise on the document.

3. Booking, advance and payment

A booking is confirmed when you pay the advance and we send you the confirmation. The usual advance is 10–20% of the quoted amount; the balance is payable on delivery, before unloading is complete.

We do not ask for the full amount before loading. If anyone claiming to represent us demands full payment upfront or asks you to transfer money to a personal account, stop and call us on the number on this site.

  • Payment is accepted by UPI, bank transfer or cash against a receipt
  • A GST invoice is issued for every booking
  • Goods are released at the destination once the agreed balance is settled

4. Cancellation and rescheduling

We will always try to accommodate a genuine emergency. Talk to your move coordinator before assuming a charge applies.

When you tell usWhat applies
More than 72 hours before the moveReschedule or cancel free; advance refunded in full
24–72 hours beforeReschedule free; on cancellation, advance is adjusted against costs already committed
Less than 24 hours beforeAdvance may be retained, as vehicle and staff are already blocked
We cancel or fail to arriveYour advance is refunded in full

5. What you agree to do

  • Declare the goods honestly at the survey, including anything stored in lofts, terraces, garages and storerooms
  • Carry your own cash, jewellery, important documents, laptops, medicines and anything irreplaceable — these must not be packed into the truck
  • Tell us in advance about restricted access: lift availability, society timings, gate passes, narrow lanes or basement height limits
  • Arrange society or building permissions and clear any dues at your end
  • Be present, or send an authorised person, at both loading and delivery to verify the inventory

6. What we will not carry

For everyone's safety and to stay within the law, we cannot transport:

  • Flammable, explosive or hazardous material — gas cylinders (unless emptied and declared), fuel, fireworks, chemicals
  • Illegal goods or substances of any kind
  • Perishable food, live plants and pets, unless separately agreed in writing
  • Cash, jewellery, precious stones, negotiable instruments and original property documents

7. Delivery timelines

Local moves are normally completed the same day. Intercity delivery windows are stated in your quotation and depend on distance, route and whether you chose a dedicated or shared vehicle.

A shared vehicle waits until it is filled, which is why it costs less; the window we give you accounts for that. We are not liable for delays outside our control — weather, road closures, strikes, accidents, police or government action, or delays caused by the destination society's rules. We will keep you informed and deliver as soon as it is safe to do so.

8. Insurance, liability and claims

Transit insurance is optional and offered on every move, priced at roughly 1.5–3% of the value you declare. Cover is issued by a third-party insurer against your declared inventory and valuation.

  • If you decline insurance, our liability is limited to loss or damage directly caused by our own negligence, up to the value of the moving charges you paid
  • Insured claims are settled by the insurer under that policy's terms, and we assist with the paperwork end to end
  • Damage must be noted on the delivery receipt before our staff leave, and photographed
  • Report a claim to us within 7 days of delivery, or within the shorter period the policy specifies
  • We are not liable for damage to items you packed yourself, for pre-existing wear, for mechanical or electrical failure with no external damage, or for goods you did not declare

9. Storage

Goods placed in our warehouse are billed monthly in advance on the volume they occupy. Storage insurance is available and recommended. If storage charges remain unpaid for 60 days after written reminders, we may exercise a lien over the goods as the law permits, after giving you notice.

10. Complaints and disputes

Talk to us first — most issues are settled with a phone call to your move coordinator. If it is not resolved, write to us at the email below and we will respond within 15 working days.

Any dispute that remains is governed by the laws of India and subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh.
